Messer Construction Seeking Tax Break on Move

Subscribe NowOhio-based Messer Construction Co. is requesting preliminary tax abatement approval on a previously-announced Indianapolis office relocation. In a notice to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission, the company says it plans to retain more than 80 workers and create two dozen jobs with the move. A hearing with the commission is set for Wednesday.
The company says the new employees will be paid an average of more than $21 per hour.
In March, a company spokeswoman told Inside INdiana Business Messer has approximately 100 workers in the state.
Messer is expecting to move into the long-vacated property in January.
If cleared Wednesday, the project could be approved July 16.
