Meijer to Open New Indy Store

Michigan-based Meijer Inc. will celebrate the opening of its 12th Indianapolis-area location Tuesday morning. Meijer says the new store has created more than 280 jobs.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in honor of the new 192,000 square-foot store on the city’s north side.
Along with the ribbon-cutting, ceremony, Meijer plans to make donations to local organizations Tuesday.
The ceremony comes less than a month after Meijer opened new locations in Evansville and Owensboro, Kentucky. The company operates more than 225 supercenters in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. It also has a distribution center in Fort Wayne.
