Michigan-based Meijer Inc. is planning to fill more than 540 positions for two new central Indiana stores. The retail company is opening in Whitestown and Plainfield this summer and is asking potential employees to apply online. It plans to hire around 270 at each location. February 4, 2014

Meijer, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer that operates 204 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

What:

Meijer is continuing to conduct interviews to complete hiring for more than 540 positions for two new Indianapolis area stores, scheduled to open in Whitestown and Plainfield this summer.

270 open positions at each store will include clerks and cake decorators to customer service, cashiers, receiving and meat cutters. Starting pay will be based on experience level and specific skills.

Potential candidates should begin the hiring process by applying online at http://jobs.meijer.com/newstore. Enter Whitestown or Plainfield in the location search field and click “Go.” Hourly candidates will find positions by clicking the NEW STORE MEIJER Opening Soon in Whitestown or the NEW STORE MEIJER Opening Soon in Plainfield postings.
