Michigan-based McLaren Health Care has completed its acquisition of MDwise in Indianapolis. McLaren says the deal, the first of its kind for the company outside of Michigan, allows it to serve more than 620,000 individuals, more than doubling its previous footprint.
McLaren says MDwise will continue to operate under its current brand. When the acquisition was announced in November, the company said it would maintain MDwise’s Indiana operations and customers should not see any changes to their Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan services.
"Today’s consolidating healthcare marketplace can be challenging, so we were thrilled to identify this opportunity with MDwise," said Philip Incarnati, president and chief executive officer of McLaren Health Care. "Strategic acquisitions like this allow McLaren to deliver on our promise to provide the best value in health care as defined by quality outcomes and cost."
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. McLaren says it expects its total revenues to approach $6 billion annually now that the acquisition is complete.
