The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission has approved tax abatement for two projects on the city’s west side totaling nearly $11.5 million. According to documents filed with the city, the developments would create and retain nearly 60 jobs.
Indianapolis-based Sentry Ventures LLC is planning to invest nearly $9 million to build and equip a 30,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility for its Sentry BioPharma Services business. The expansion will be part of Sentry’s ultra-low freezer storage services and the company says it would retain 17 jobs and create 18 new positions with an average wage more than $18 per hour.
The MDC has approved six-year real property and personal property tax abatements for the project.
Japan-based Ryoei USA Inc. is looking to invest more than $2.5 million to build a 16,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in the Purdue Research Park at Ameriplex. The project is being developed by South Bend-based Holladay Properties, which says the facility will serve as the company’s U.S. headquarters.
Ryoei USA says the facility will retain and relocate nine existing jobs from Wayne Township and also create 14 jobs with an average wage of nearly $22 per hour by 2022. Holladay’s website says the project is expected to be complete in June 2019.
The MDC has approved four-year real property and personal property tax abatements.
