Plainfield-based MD Logistics Inc. is planning to expand and add up to 50 new jobs this year. The logistics services provider says it will spend more than $3.7 million to upgrade its Hendricks County facility, boosting its storage capabilities for frozen and refrigerated pharmaceuticals. The new positions include warehouse associates, supervisors and managers.
MD Logistics currently employs 200 at its three facilities in Plainfield. The company marked 20 years in business in 2016. President and co-founder Mark Sell says "a large part of our success has been a direct result of the attractive business climate the state of Indiana offers. Companies want to conduct business in Indiana because of the talented and hardworking labor force available to us. As we expand our operations in response to market demands, we are very excited to continue to grow in central Indiana. We are grateful to Hendricks County and the state of Indiana for their support."
The company says the improvements to its 173,000 square-foot facility, which opened in 2015, will help support demand that includes a new contract.
MD Logistics and MD Express Inc. have been offered up to $255,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
