Indiana University has renewed multiple partnerships with universities in Italy and Poland. A trip to Europe by a delegation led by President Michael McRobbie also included a visit to the Italian headquarters of Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY).
During the tip, the IU delegation marked the 40th anniversary of the school’s relationship with the University of Warsaw in Poland and the 50th anniversary of its partnership with the University of Bologna. IU also formally announced an agreement with the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. That partnership involves the 3-D digitization of the museum’s entire collection of Greek and Roman sculpture.
While in Poland, McRobbie signed an agreement with the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. The deal allows IU undergraduate students to intern at the museum. The attraction also has an agreement with IU Press for a book series called "Jewish Lives in Poland."
McRobbie says the collaborations "have brought and will bring enormous benefits to all of our institutions."
