McDonald to Join Venture Club Board

McDonald spent more than 20 years as a technical sales executive at IBM.

Indianapolis-based CloudOne Inc. Chief Executive Officer John McDonald will join the Venture Club of Indiana’s board of directors beginning next year. He has led the technology company since 2010.

McDonald spent more than 20 years as a technical sales executive at IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) and is one of the founding members of its Cloud Customer Standards Council. He earned degrees in computer programming technology and computer information technology from Purdue University.

The Venture Club aims to decrease the degrees of separation between entrepreneurs and financial and professional resources. The organization hosts events including luncheons and workshops to connect entrepreneurs, investors and the business community. It also works with Verge and VisionTech Partners to organize an annual Innovation Showcase.

Board President Todd Saxton says McDonald brings a "wealth of experience and perspective" that will benefit the organization’s members, and adds that he is "already influencing our discussions and direction.".
