McCourt Leaving IU

Indiana University Senior Vice President MaryFrances McCourt is leaving the school for a position at the University of Pennsylvania. McCourt, who joined IU in 2005, will be Penn’s vice president for finance and treasurer.
McCourt began her Indiana University career as university treasurer. She was promoted to vice president and chief financial officer in 2013, and senior vice president in 2014. The school says she was instrumental in guiding the university through the recession and improving student financial literacy. She also helped organize the Healthy IU employee wellness initiative.
In a release from IU, McCourt said, "The talent and commitment to which I have been exposed across our campuses is remarkable, and I have been honored to be a part of the Indiana University team. The work has been challenging and fun as we have navigated through the pressures of higher education’s ‘new normal.’ I will deeply miss the daily interaction with my outstanding peers."
McCourt begins in her new role in March, although she will continue to help IU finalize its 2015-2017 budget. The school says it will detail plans to find a successor in the near future.
