TechPoint has announced new leadership for its board of directors. Scott McCorkle (pictured), former chief executive officer of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, will become board chair, replacing Kelly Pfledderer, founder and former CEO of Apparatus. Glenda Akers, chief operating officer for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Kristina Lengyel, vice president of global professional services for Kronos Inc., will also join the board.

McCorkle was honored in 2016 with the Trailblazer Award, which recognizes visionaries whose contributions have had lasting and significant impact on our technology ecosystem and our state. He previously served as president of technology and strategy for ExactTarget prior to the company’s acquisition by Salesforce, and took over the Salesforce Marketing Cloud CEO role in May 2014.

Prior to his roles at Salesforce, McCorkle was co-founder and president of Mezzia Inc., a planning and budgeting software company that was acquired by VFA Inc. in 2006, and a vice president of the CRM Product Group at IBM. He was also a vice president at Software Artistry where he worked with fellow Trailblazer in Technology award recipients Don Brown, Bill Godfrey, Robert Compton and Scott Webber; and before that he was a senior analyst for Eli Lilly and Co. McCorkle was born and raised in Rush County, in the small town of Milroy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ball State University and an MBA from Indiana University.

Akers currently serves as COO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud in Indianapolis. She has more than 30 years of experience in product development with a focus on mobility, security and cloud solutions and has managed product organizations in both startups and Fortune 500 corporations (MCI, Sybase, SAP). Akers has been active in Austin’s startup community as a product development executive at MetaSolv (IPO), SoloMio (acquired) and Macheen (acquired). She has maintained a customer centric approach to developing enterprise solutions with a focus on performance, scale and availability. Akers holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of Texas.

Lengyel currently serves as vice president of global professional services at Kronos Inc., the $1.2 billion global leader of workforce management and human capital management solutions. She has been with Kronos since August 2010 and, during her first three years, was vice president of engineering responsible for managing a global engineering organization. Lengyel previously served as senior vice president of global technical services at Open Solutions and led on-shore and off-shore technical and operations professionals focused on product quality in support of the organization’s audacious growth plan. Also, she held several key executive roles at Concerto (now Aspect) Software. Lengyel holds a master’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
