One of the biggest names in Indiana’s tech sector is joining Indianapolis-based marketing technology startup Fuzic Inc. Former Salesforce Marketing Cloud Chief Executive Officer Scott McCorkle will serve as executive chairman of the custom audio advertising company.
Fuzic co-founder Brent Oakley says the company was "born from my need as a business owner to have an easy-to-use, software-as-a-service platform that fused music and messaging through custom audio advertising integrated with licensed music." He says more than 100 organizations have already adopted the platform.
McCorkle says mixing music and messaging helps retailers and other location-based businesses to encourage customers to shop and spend more. He says the platform comes at a time that it has "never been more important" for those companies to control their environments.
McCorkle, who left Salesforce in August 2016, also serves as executive in residence for Indianapolis-based High Alpha.
Fuzic uses customized messaging and licensed music playlists to help companies engage on-site customers. The company says the messages are recorded by on-demand voice talent and can be recorded and produced within hours of a company’s request.
The company has also announced the acquisition of mobile development company Pragmatix Studio. The company says the deal will help accelerate product development. Financial terms were not disclosed.
