Martin University has hired a new chief financial officer, a Hoosier with years of experience in the public sector, including most recently as CFO of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Kenneth Mayfield has championed collaboration, transparency and accountability throughout his career, Martin University said in a news release. As CFO of the BMV, he aligned fiscal strategy with long-term goals and operational excellence.
“Kenneth has built a reputation for bringing clarity to complex financial environments and strengthening the fiscal integrity of the organizations he has served,” Martin President Sean Huddleston said in the release. “We welcome him as a valued member of our executive team and know he will make an immediate impact.”
Mayfield began his role as CFO of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in 2022, state payroll records indicate. Prior, he served in financial analysis and accounting roles for a handful of state agencies, including the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Indiana State Department of Health, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He earned an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He also most recently served as the president of the Central Indiana Chapter of AGA, formerly known as the Association of Government Accountants.
Founded in 1977, Martin University is Indiana’s only Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) of higher education.
