Martin University in Indianapolis has hired Davyd Hall as the inaugural executive director of its National Center for Racial Equality and Inclusion. Hall most recently served as director of the Unity Center at Marian University in Indy.
The NCREI aims to help leaders and organizations strengthen diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. In his new role, Martin says Hall will be responsible for building and sustaining community partnerships, inclusive channels of communication, assessment of experience and sense of belonging, and strategies to disrupt oppressive systems for the center.
“Through meaningful partnerships, effective communication, impactful programming and advocacy the NCREI will be recognized as a national catalytic organization that will help develop sustainable strategies and practices that address racial inequity, creating more inclusive environments and affirming environments,” Hall said in a news release. “I am truly honored and excited to be in this position.”
The university says the NCREI will host workshops, lectures, seminars, programs and other activities, which will be open to the public, to achieve its goals.
