Marsh, Kroger Update Sale Timeline

Liquidation sales will continue until the merchandise is sold

Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co. (NSYE: KR) expects its subsidiary’s purchase of 11 central and southern Indiana Marsh Supermarkets locations to close in mid-July. Liquidation sales at those locations as well as 18 others that did not attract a buyer are underway.

Kroger’s subsidiary Topvalco Inc. plans to take possession of its stores when the liquidation sales are complete. Ohio-based Generative Growth II, doing business as Fresh Encounter, is purchasing 15 locations. Marsh filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month.

Liquidation sales will continue until the merchandise is sold, which Marsh expects to be in early July. Sales are underway at the following locations:
