Marketing Tech Firm to Expand Indy Office

Wnderkind is a NY-based marketing technology company with a growing presence in Indy.

New York-based tech company Wunderkind Corp. says it plans to quadruple its office footprint and significantly expand its workforce in Indianapolis. In November 2020, the company acquired Indy-based Smarter HQ, and at the time, announced expansion plans to grow its e-commerce marketing pipeline.

The company says it employs about 120 people, growing from the 24-person team when the purchase was made. Wunderkind says it now intends to hire 125 more people in Indianapolis, making it the company’s second largest office among its teams in New York, London and Austin, Texas.

Wunderkind builds marketing campaigns for customers like Sam’s Club, Bloomingdales, DSW and QVC.  The company says the expansion will help accelerate its ability to ship new products for enterprise retailers by growing its engineering and customer success teams.

“Last year, we said we wanted to join forces with SmarterHQ so we could supercharge our clients’ e-commerce growth, but the global market responded even better than expected to our merged product offerings and we did some supercharged growth ourselves,” said Michael Osborne, president and chief executive officer.. “We couldn’t be more pleased with how things have been and where they’re going.”

Osborne said he expects to hire up to 15 people for the Indianapolis office before the end of this year and another 100 more by the end of 2022. Those jobs include customer success positions, tech services and support, and campaign engineers.
