Market District Adding Home Delivery The event will be held at Market District in Carmel.

Another grocery chain is bringing home delivery to central Indiana. Carmel Market District says more than 50,000 items are available to customers in the Carmel area who use the service.

Market District says the service will be available in the 46032, 46074, 46280 and 46290 zip codes. Items available include produce, meat, seafood, bakery items and refrigerated and frozen products as well as cleaning, laundry, health and beauty items.

Market District’s parent company, Giant Eagle Inc. piloted the home delivery service in February in Pittsburgh. Director of Corporate Communications Dan Donovan says that test showed customers were interested in using the service "on an ongoing basis to meet their families’ needs." The company began its curbside grocery pickup service in 2012.

In addition to Indianapolis, Giant Eagle’s home delivery service is now available in areas of Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Columbus. The company has more than 400 stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
