The Marian University board of trustees has announced its unanimous decision to extend the contract of President Daniel  Elsener through the 2024-25 academic year. The length of the contract coincides with the university’s Strategic Plan 2025, which was implemented in 2015.

President Elsener joined Marian University as its eighth president in  2001. Marian currently boasts enrollment of 4,400 students from 40 states and 34 nations for the 2018-19 academic year, the largest enrollment in the university’s history.

“It’s been an honor to serve as the president of Marian University for the past 18 years, and I’m thrilled to serve with an outstanding Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, community partners, and most especially the Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg in advancing the professional, cultural, social, and economic well-being of central Indiana and beyond,” Elsener said.
