Marian University Chooses New Provost Alan Silva Chosen as Marian University Provost

Marian University has chosen Alan Silva as its new executive vice president and provost. Silva moves to the same position at Marian that he held at St. Catherine University in Minnesota. Silva will serve as the university’s chief operating officer, chief academic officer and will oversee budgets, faculty and students.

He succeeds Thomas Enneking, who came to Marian 13 years ago.

President Dan Elsener says Silva will fit the university well. "He is an accomplished and innovative academic leader with a strong commitment to Catholic higher education. Dr. Silva will make the recruitment, development and professional advancement of our growing faculty a top priority. Dr. Silva will encourage innovative approaches to thinking and delivering higher education to our students."

Silva also held numerous positions at University of California-Davis after earning his master’s at the school.
