Illinois-based JD Norman Industries is planning to close its facility in Muncie. In a notice to the state, the company says the decision will result in the layoffs of 130 employees.
JD Norman did not provide a reason for the closure. The layoffs are expected to be permanent and will occur between December 15 and December 31. The affected employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights.
JD Norman Industries manufactures metal components and systems for original equipment manufacturers of automotive, industrial and transportation products, according to its website.
