Inc. is celebrating the opening of its new $3.5 million manufacturing facility at the River Ridge Commerce Center. The company, which provides custom plastic injection molding services for the automotive industry, says the facility will create several jobs over the next two years.
The new 38,000 square-foot facility will serve as a manufacturing plant, distribution center and corporate office for the company, a subsidiary of Japan-based Kojima Industries. D.A. officials are estimating a 20 percent growth in sales by 2020.
"The sincere hospitality and support shown to us over the years by the City of Charlestown, the State of Indiana, One Southern Indiana, and the residents of this community are what attracted us here in 1988, and it remains the primary reason we choose to expand our operation here," said Jeff Smith, chief operating officer. "We are invested in this community and its citizens – not only as a business partner but also as our friends and neighbors."
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered up to $150,000 in conditional tax credits. The incentives will not be available to the company until Hoosier workers are hired.
"Indiana continues to create a low-cost, low-regulation business environment that is garnering attention and attracting new companies to the state from across the globe," said Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "But D.A. Inc.’s commitment to its community and its choice to expand here demonstrate the ongoing importance of our state’s foundation."
D.A. Inc. has another facility in New Mexico.
