A manufacturer is planning to add nearly three dozen jobs in North Manchester by 2021. Japan-based Oji Intertech Inc. says it will double the size of its current Wabash County plant with a $4.5 million investment. The company currently employs more than 100 associates in North Manchester and has begun the hiring process for production molding positions.
The expansion includes 80,000 additional square-feet, as well as two more molding lines expected to launch in 2020. The full build-out is expected to be complete by 2022 and will help the Oji Interpack Co. Ltd. subsidiary increase automotive and industrial packaging industry component production levels.
Oji Intertech President Rick Sereno says "the additional investment into our North Manchester facility is the direct result of the sustained efforts of our employees and the positive business environment that both the state and county have created."
The manufacturer, which has been offered up to $275,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants through the Indiana Economic Development Corp., has had a presence in Wabash County for 20 years.
