Manchester, Ivy Tech to sign student transfer agreement

Manchester University and Ivy Tech Community College are set to sign an agreement later this month that will allow associate’s degree graduates from the community college to transfer all of their credits and enroll in Manchester as juniors.
Ivy Tech students who earn an associate’s degree of arts, science, general studies or fine arts will be considered to have fulfilled Manchester’s general education core requirements, allowing up to 60 credits to be transferred, the university said in a news release.
“Our articulation agreements with Ivy Tech reflect our shared commitment to expanding access, reducing cost and creating clear, seamless pathways for students to achieve their academic and career goals,” Manchester University President Stacy Young said in the release.
Ivy Tech students who earn their associate’s degree with a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA and meet other conditions are guaranteed admission into Manchester University.
“We are thrilled to expand opportunities for our students through these new transfer pathways with Manchester University,” Ivy Tech Chancellor Kim Barnett-Johnson said in the release. “This partnership represents a shared commitment to student success, providing Ivy Tech graduates with a clear and seamless route to continue their education and achieve their long-term goals.”
The agreement is set to be signed June 25 at the Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana.
Manchester University, about 33 miles west of Fort Wayne, is a private liberal arts school that offers more than 70 areas of undergraduate, graduate and professional study. Its student enrollment is about 1,300. The university also has a Fort Wayne location.
Ivy Tech Community College is Indiana’s largest public higher education institution with about 180,000 students served at 45 locations statewide and online.
