The $250,000 work includes adding a new dedicated gallery called Science Sprouts Place designed for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. WonderLab will be closed through August 23 for other "spiff up" efforts including additions to the Coral Reef Aquarium exhibit and renovations to its second floor where a hot air balloon exhibit was previously featured.
Science Sprouts, which will feature original, hands-on exhibits, is slated to open late next year. It will take place of the current bubble room space. WonderLab has also released a series of Facebook and YouTube programs with topic titles including: "Science Outside with Wonders of Nature," "STEM Sunday Engineering Challenge," "Science Sprouts!" and "Meanwhile Behind the Scenes at WonderLab."
The museum is slated to reopen August 24.
