Crews are expected to begin construction on an $80 million housing complex at the site of a former Kmart in Bloomington next month. The Herald-Times reports underground utility work, perimeter improvement installation and foundation work must still be completed.
The project is being developed by Lafayette-based Trinitas Ventures and will include three student housing and two multifamily buildings with units ranging from studios to five bedrooms. A 387-space parking garage is also planned.
Aaron Bartels, senior vice president of development for Trinitas, tells the publication the site will also include a park, basketball courts and landscaped courtyards.
The new units are expected to open in August 2023 with leasing planned to begin this fall.
