Main Street Program Adds Gas City

A Grant County city has been added to the Indiana Main Street Program. The Gas City Main Street initiative focuses on a "Four Point Approach" of organization, design, promotion and economic restructuring of the east central Indiana community’s downtown.
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, which administers the statewide effort, says Gas City Main Street is "dedicated to maintaining a vibrant commercial and residential area by advocating for historic preservation, promoting small business, and encouraging economic development, redevelopment and improvement."
The program includes around 120 Indiana cities and towns.
OCRA Executive Director Bill Konya says "thanks to our partners in the Indiana Main Street Program who continue to dedicate their time and talent to ensure our cities and towns are positioned to thrive in the 21st century. We look forward to witnessing the revitalization in the Gas City Main Street."
