Machining Company Expanding in Columbia City AJ Machine says it has outgrown its current facility in Columbia City.

Columbia City-based AJ Machine Inc. has announced plans to expand. The company will invest $1 million to build a new facility in the Whitley County city and add more than a dozen jobs over the next five years.

AJ Machine says it has outgrown its current location and the new, nearly 15,000 square-foot facility will include office and manufacturing space. The company currently employs 25 workers.

"I am pleased that the McClures decided to build their new facility here in Whitley County," said Jon Myers, president of the Whitley County Economic Development Corp. "Their business is one of several local companies that provides cutting-edge design and engineering services to manufacturers across the country and around the world."

The WCEDC says the company expects to begin construction on the new facility later this month. The Whitley County Council has approved a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
