(Nasdaq: ACHC) have broken ground on a $45 million mental health hospital in Allen County. The partners say Maple Heights Behavioral Health will address a growing need for services for people struggling with acute mental health disorders in northeast Indiana.
“The scarcity of mental health resources is a national problem that we also face in northeast Indiana,” said Mark Medley, regional president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Health Network.
The health system says the 120-bed facility will treat patients of all ages who have a wide variety of mental health challenges, including depression, bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
The hospital is expected to open next spring.
