FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Scott Weiskittel, MPT, has joined the administrative team at Lutheran Hospital as its new chief operating officer. Weiskittel brings with him a wide breadth of operational experience. He comes to northeastern Indiana from Pennsylvania where he served for the last three years as COO at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, a 224-bed community hospital. For the two years prior to that, he was the hospital's assistant chief executive officer and ethics and compliance officer.
Weiskittel is a physical therapist by training who has gained valuable leadership skills working in markets in South Carolina, Tennessee and Pennsylvania over the past 15 years. He has extensive experience in managing service lines, developing joint ventures and delivering results on multiple capital projects. Weiskittel is also noted for helping Pottstown Memorial Medical Center receive numerous quality certifications and designations including several from The Joint Commission.
His professional development includes involvement with the American College of Healthcare Executives and past membership on the Leadership Health Care initiative in Nashville, Tenn.
Weiskittel and his wife, Holli, are the parents of three children. He's an avid runner who enjoys giving back through volunteering. Examples of his community service have included membership with Meals on Wheels, Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
Weiskittel earned a master's in physical therapy from Widener University's Institute for Physical Therapy Education in 1997 and a bachelor's in biology from the University of Virginia in 1992.
