Carmel-based Lumavate has completed a $2.5 million round of seed funding. The tech company, which provides a platform for creating cloud-based mobile apps, says the funding will help it grow its product, sales and marketing teams. The company has also launched a partner program.

The funding round included participation from investors such as Allos Ventures, Collina Ventures, Don Brown, Elevate Ventures, 4G Ventures, and Jupiter Peak. Lumavate says it will use the funding to grow its workforce and continue to develop its platform offering. The startup did not specify the number of new jobs that could be created as a result.

The company says its platform allows clients to transition from native mobile apps to progressive web apps, or PWAs. Chief Executive Officer Mark Hill says the process makes it easier for companies to design and deploy highly-personalized mobile experiences for customers at a lower cost.

"Lumavate is on the forefront of what’s happening in mobile tech and is well positioned to capitalize on the transition from native mobile apps to PWAs," said Jupiter Peak Managing Partner Mike Simmons. “Lumavate’s impressive platform, veteran team and growing roster of enterprise clients–including a Fortune 100 company–are why I’m excited to participate in this round of funding."

Lumavate says its new partner program will work to support its growing network of strategic relationships with marketing agencies, consulting and system integrators, activation companies, and technology.

"We’re really excited about the launch of our partner program and the success our partners are already seeing," said Bill Godfrey, co-founder and vice president of business development of Lumavate. "We afford our partners the flexibility to serve their customers as a managed service provider, reseller, or teaming partner, which really helps them differentiate and grow their business."

Both Hill and Godfrey were recently appointed to their current positions with Lumavate.
