The host of a statewide sports radio show says Indiana's expanded class system offers championship opportunities for teams that have been held back by perennial contenders. Preseason scrimmages kick off tonight for schools throughout the state. Indiana Sports Talk host Bob Lovell discussed his show and the upcoming season on Inside INdiana Business Television. The largest programs in the state now make up the “6A” competitive class.

He says the sport 'galvanizes' entire communities by bringing people closer to the schools.

Indiana Sports Talk is in its 20th season and can be heard on dozens of stations across the state.

Lovell tells Inside INdiana Business Sports Contributor Bill Benner, he believes the success of the show is tied to serving its founding mission of “extolling the virtues” of Hoosier high school and college athletics.

The program is produced by Network Indiana/WIBC, which is a partner of Inside INdiana Business partners.
