Lou Gerig Named ‘Indy PR Legend’

Gerig, who currently serves as president of Indianapolis-based Sease, Gerig & Associates, previously served in roles including press secretary for former Senator Richard Lugar and assistant to former Reagan administration Press Secretary James Brady.
Gerig will receive his recognition November 14 during an IPRS luncheon at Christ Church Cathedral on Monument Circle in Indianapolis. The Anderson University graduate currently serves on the AU board of trustees and previously chaired it for 20 years. His experience includes time as a teacher in the North White School system, reporter for the Herald Journal in Monticello, director of public relations at the University of Indianapolis and vice president of public and governmental affairs for the former Merchants National Bank & Trust Co. of Indianapolis.

In 1987, Gerig and partners Gene and David Sease acquired Howard Wilcox Inc. in Indianapolis and created what is now Sease, Gerig & Associates. The consulting company currently represents around 40 companies and organizations in Indiana.
