In a notice to the state, DIY Group Inc. says the move is prompted by the loss of a “significant” contract with Jarden Home Brands. Employees affected include Jarden hand and automated packing line workers, fork lift operators and support staff.
Layoffs could begin as early as October and are expected to be final.
DIY Group says it is working with state and local officials to help with job training and assistance.
