The contract calls for the manufacturing and testing of radar antenna arrays for the U.S. Navy.
The arrays are part of the AN/SPS-48E three-dimensional radar system used on both land and sea to detect low-flying and high-altitude missiles and aircraft. The system uses multiple arrays that are exposed to the weather and must be overhauled and restored on a regular basis.
The DoD says work on the contract will be performed in Loogootee, located about 100 miles southwest of Indianapolis, and is expected to be completed by November 2027.
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division in Indiana is the contracting activity.
