Longtime Rush County Furniture Store Closing

A more than 70-year-old furniture retailer in Rushville will soon close its doors. Curtis Brothers Furniture, a third-generation family-run company, says it has begun its going out of business sale and will close upon its completion.
The company was founded in 1946 and earlier this year completed a remodel at its Rush County location. In a statement to Inside INdiana Business, owner Kim Curtis said, "We have been very fortunate to have served so many happy customers and families for almost three-quarters of a century, and able to support this community in all the ways that we could."
Curtis says the closure comes as he prepares to retire from the business. The company says the closure will be permanent.
