Longtime Editor Stepping Down

The longtime editor of one of the state’s largest newspapers is retiring. The Journal Gazette‘s Craig Klugman will step down from the Fort Wayne newspaper November 20. Managing Editor Sherry Skufca will succeed Klugman.
Klugman has led the Journal Gazette since 1982. Since then, the publication has landed several awards, including the Hoosier State Press Association’s Blue Ribbon Newspaper of the Year. He was inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame in 2009. The Indiana University graduate’s career has also included stints with the Chicago Sun-Times and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. He will remain with the Journal Gazette as an adviser.
Skufca has been the paper’s managing editor since 1989. Her 38-year career includes stops at publications in Pennsylvania, California and Ohio.
