The $155 million U.S. 31 Kokomo bypass is set to open Tuesday. Governor Mike Pence will take part in a ribbon-cutting to mark the completion of the 13-mile bypass. It's part of an effort to improve the corridor from Indianapolis to South Bend. The long-awaited bypass includes six new interchanges. It is an alternative to old U.S. 31, which has 15 intersections and traffic signals.

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight and Indiana Department of Transportation officials are also set to take part in Tuesday's event, which is scheduled for noon.
