The powersports and automotive part distributor says it will invest more than $6.3 into plans that include 118 new jobs over the next two years.
Avept says the new 100,000 square-foot distribution center, the company’s second, will trim 3-4 days off shipping times from its current setup. The Indiana operation will also serve sales, customer service and product development functions. The expansion will nearly quadruple the number of employees at Avept.
Avept President Nathan Klejwa says "Indiana is a state that is business friendly and Brownsburg and surrounding areas offer our employees a great quality of life. As the Crossroads of America, Indiana’s central geography will lower our delivery costs and get products into customers’ hands in half the time." Plans call for the company to distribute 100,000 different components throughout the country from the new location over the next two years.
Around $600,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants have been offered to Avept through the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
The facility is set to be operational later this fall and equipment installation is already underway.
