TPS Industrial Services LLC says it will invest $3.5 million into a new Columbus headquarters. The trucking company’s plans include up to 61 new jobs over the next three years. TPS currently employs 15 in Bartholomew County and says additional hiring is already underway.
The company says the openings, which are expected to pay 25 percent higher wages than the state average, include CDL drivers, dispatchers and sales executives. Plans for the new terminal call for 50,000 additional feet of space, opening up room for on-site distribution and fulfillment operations.
President Telma Santana says "we are proud to be an Indiana-based company here in the crossroads of America and the headquarters of the best diesel engine manufacturer in the world. Our team of professionals is dedicated to serving customers large and small, ensuring quality and implementing processes and procedures to improve deficiencies in the supply chain while adding value to our customers. TPS looks forward to generating more jobs, growth and opportunities for workers here in Columbus, Indiana."
The investment also includes additional equipment to help TPS meet growing demand from its customers, which include Indianapolis-based Celadon Group Inc. (NYSE: CGI), another company investing in expansion.
TPS has been offered a total of more than $500,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants.
