‘Living Legends’ to be Honored Purdue President Mitch Daniels will give the keynote address at the event.

The Indiana Historical Society will honor Friday evening its newest class of Indiana Living Legends. This year’s recipients include Purdue University President Mitch Daniels and Henry Leck, founding director of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.

The award is given each year to "extraordinary Hoosiers with contributions to Indiana and the nation," according to the IHS. Three other Indiana Living Legends award recipients include State Historian James Madison, Central Indiana Community Foundation Chief Executive Officer Brian Payne and former Long Electric Co. Inc. CEO Yvonne Shaheen.

The recipients were chosen by a selection committee of civic and corporate leaders. You can learn more about the recipients by clicking here.

The annual Indiana Living Legends Gala will take place at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. The event is the historical society’s signature fundraising event.
