Elkhart-based Lippert Components Inc. (NYSE: LCII) is expanding its employee health and wellness services. The RV components manufacturer says its mobile care unit will travel to its northern Indiana facilities to provide acute care, chronic disease management, and well-being resources.

The custom, 30-foot RV is equipped with two exam rooms, a waiting area, and a lab. Lippert says the services are free, even for employees who do not participate in the company’s medical benefits.

“Caring for people remains a top priority at Lippert,” said Jason Lippert, chief executive officer of Lippert. “That includes providing our team members with convenient and affordable access to healthcare. We’re excited to offer this additional layer of support to help them improve their overall health and well-being.”

Lippert says the unit will be staffed with a nurse practitioner and two registered nurses, as well as Spanish-speaking providers and translation services.

“Our goal is not to replace the excellent care provided by our valued healthcare partners,” said Eileen Pruitt, deputy chief human resources officer and senior legal counsel. “The MCU is a way to provide an additional resource to help our team members identify acute and chronic conditions and provide them with resources for follow up. We will continue to refer team members to our trusted providers for follow-up as necessary.”

Lippert says the unit will be available to its employees later this month.
