Elkhart-based Lippert Components Inc. is growing its footprint in the European recreational vehicle market. Through its recently-created German subsidiary LCI Industries GmbH, the company has acquired Schaudt GmbH Elektrotechnik & Apparatebau.
Lippert, a subsidiary of LCI Industries (NYSE: LCII), says Schaudt is a leading supplier of electronic controls and energy management systems for the European RV industry.
“Schaudt’s excellent reputation for customer service and their great customer relationships were key to this partnership,” said Jim Menefee, group president of Lippert Europe. “At Lippert, we understand the importance of offering our European customers localized services in their native language, all while maintaining quick reaction times and being as flexible as possible.”
Schaudt has been a parts supplier for more than 40 years.
According to a European RV trade association, purchases of RVs have increased 4% over the past year in Europe and nearly 14% in Germany.
