Lilly Volunteers Head Overseas

Lilly says more than 246

Volunteers from Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE: LLY) are currently in Thailand working with a local hospital as part of the company’s Connecting Hearts Abroad program. A second team will head to Ghana next week with nine more teams heading to other locations throughout the year.

Through the program, volunteers spend two weeks in low- and middle-income countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with the goal of better understanding challenges the communities face. Lilly says many of the teams use specialized skills "to help advance the goals of local health partners."

Later this year, volunteer teams will head to Tanzania, Guatemala, Peru, Kenya, Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa. You can view more information about the volunteer’s trip to Brazil last year by viewing the video below.
