The pharmaceutical giant says the facility, located at the Lilly Technology Center, was designed as an innovation hub for Lilly Research Laboratories.
Lilly says the center will facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration allowing researchers to utilize advanced technologies to accelerate the development of new medicines in five key areas: diabetes, oncology, neurodegeneration, immunology, and pain.
Plans for the facility were first announced in November 2015. The project adds 130,000 square feet of space to the Lilly Technology Center.
Lilly Chief Executive Officer Dave Ricks will join Daniel Skovronsky, president of Lilly Research Laboratories, and Anne White, vice president of next generation research and development, for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
