Eli Lilly and Co. has named Anat Hakim senior vice-president and general counsel. She most recently served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at WellCare Health Plans. Prior to that, Hakim served as divisional vice president and associate general counsel for intellectual property litigation at Abbott Laboratories. She also served as the company’s divisional vice president and associate general counsel for litigation. Hakim began her career at Latham Watkins after earning her law degree from Harvard University.

Hakim succeeds Michael Harrington who will retire January 31.
