Lilly Chief to Receive Honorary Doctorate

Lilly Chief to Receive Honorary Doctorate Lechleiter became Lilly CEO in 2008.

The president and chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) will be honored at one of Purdue University’s spring commencement ceremonies next week. John Lechleiter will receive an honorary doctorate from Purdue’s College of Pharmacy. 

Lechleiter will receive his honorary degree during the ceremony May 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the Elliot Hall of Music on the West Lafayette campus. 

Purdue will also give an honorary doctorate to Kristi Anseth, a Purdue graduate who currently serves as a distinguished professor of chemical and biological engineering at the University of Colorado. Anseth is the first engineer to be named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute medical investigator. 

Anseth will be honored at the May 13 ceremony at 8:00 p.m.
