Georgia-based Acuity Brands Lighting Inc. says it is closing a facility in Fishers. In a notice to the state, the company said the closure will result in the layoffs of 150 employees.
The lighting equipment manufacturer said layoffs will begin in January with 34 people losing their jobs. The company says layoffs will continue through April.
Acuity did not specify why it is permanently closing the plant.
The employees are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 481. The company says the affected workers do not have bumping rights.
