Indianapolis-based LIDS Sports Group has extended a licensing contract with Major League Baseball. The deal involves retailer embroidery rights for officially-licensed caps, jerseys and shirts.

The company says the agreement applies to locations in the U.S. and Canada. LIDS has nearly 1,100 headwear and sports fan specialty stores and 57 team-specific locations in North America.

LIDS and MLB began what the company calls the first of its kind arrangement last year at the All Star Game in Minneapolis. LIDS Sports Group President Ken Kocher says the announcement helps "take customers' fandom to the next level."

MLB Players Association Director of Licensing and Business Development Evan Kaplan says the positive response has been "overwhelming" and the organization is excited to expand the relationship with LIDS.
