The committees will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss a number of top policy issues, gather public input and recommend legislation.
“I’m confident we will have another productive summer and fall as the committees get their arms around their assigned topics and prepare bill concepts for 2022,” said Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville).
Members of the Senate will chair the study committees this year, with members of the House of Representatives serving as vice chairs.
Many interim committees will begin meeting in July with most of their work concluded by the end of October. Huston said. “Legislators have a great opportunity to examine issues in depth and recommend solutions for the General Assembly to consider in January,” said House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers).
