Leather Company Moving to Jeffersonville

A New Albany-based company has announced plans to relocate operations to Jeffersonville. Silver Creek Leather Co. LLC says it will invest more than $2.3 million over the next five years and add up to 30 employees.
Silver Creek has purchased a 30,000 square-foot facility that will increase its working space by 25 percent. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered the wholesale leathercraft supplier a Skills Enhancement Fund grant of up to $40,000 to support employee training.
"After years of significant growth and several expansions, we have acknowledged our current space is simply too small to meet our current requirements and future development," said Greg Sartor, owner of Silver Creek. "We were happy to find a location to accommodate our manufacturing, packaging and warehousing needs. Since we will own the new building, and there is room for further expansion, we feel the company will be poised for new opportunities when they are presented to us."
Silver Creek currently employs 45 workers. The company did not specify a timetable for the move.
