Lawson Launches Voter Education Site

The Indiana Secretary of State has launched a website designed to teach students about Indiana and the importance of voting. Connie Lawson’s office says the site, called Connie’s Civics Corner, aims to inspire students to be active participants in U.S. democracy.

Lawson’s office says the web site caters to students, voters and educators. One of the goals of the site is to teach Hoosiers the importance of each vote in an election.

"Hoosiers who learn about the importance of voting at a young age are more likely to vote as an adult," said Lawson. "This website works to teach students about the history of Indiana and why voting is important to encourage voter participation. The website features lesson plans for teachers, a quiz to test your Indiana knowledge and information on how one vote has changed the course of our nation on numerous occasions."
